Our Reefer Container Awareness Programme:

This is a 1 day course aimed at enabling delegates to understand the basics of reefer containers , their function and use in the container business. This is a rapidly growing business area for Lines and one in which a great deal of money can be made but which has attendant additional costs and risks. The course will look at this through a risk analysis approach.

The course is based in Southampton and delegates will have the opportunity to view reefer containers in a depot and to follow the steps involved in preparing the containers for service. No prior technical knowledge is required.

The first part of the course is classroom based where we will cover the background to reefer container operations, the basics of a refrigeration system and the commercial gains that can be created by intelligent use of reefer containers.

Later in the day we will transfer to a reefer container depot in order to view the basic operational elements of container repair, pre trip inspection and the differences between individual reefer container designs.

Finally we will review a refer container business case study.
